Deputy Minister Petya Evtimova from the Ministry of Education presented awards to students and teachers
On the already ended last week event “25 years Erasmus in Europe, 15 years Erasmus in Bulgaria”, organized by the Human Resource Development Center (HRDC), were presented the awards for students and lecturers participated in the program for academic exchange – Erasmus.
Among the awards were cameras, bicycle, plaques and certificates, but the biggest one was the participation in the conference on the occasion “25 years Erasmus in Europe” in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The student from International University College – Vaselina Madjarova, winner in the video contest “My Erasmus Adventure”, organized by the HRDC and carrier of the biggest prize, told about her participation in the prestigious event in Copenhagen, which was held on the 9th of May and projected the video that earned her the award in front of a full lecture hall in the “St. Kliment Ohridski” Sofia University. She shared that among the guests of the conference was the Danish queen Margarete the IInd herself, as well as many European diplomats.
“My Erasmus exchange program was in Helsinki. I met a lot of new and interesting friends, I travelled almost all around Finland and I reached the far north point of the country. During the exchange I’ve learned many things about myself and I met my classmates, which were from different nationalities, with the Bulgarian traditions. I think that each student must take part – this is how we – the youngsters – open our eyes to the world and carry the good and interesting ideas, which we saw in a foreign country, so we can try and implement them at home.” – shared in front of chancellors, lecturers and students Veselina Madjarova, 2nd year student in the British program of Hospitality Management.
On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Erasmus in Bulgaria, the Human Resource Development Center organized and a photo competition, won by a student from the “St.St. Cyril and Methodius” University of Veliko Turnovo and among the winners was the two millionth student in Europe, participated in Erasmus program, which is from Bulgaria. Deputy Minister Petya Evtimova from the Ministry of Education personally gave to the students and lecturers their awards.
