The current tendencies on the market of labour and the economic situation in the region were at the foot of the idea for realization of several projects for qualification of unemployed people that were organized by "International College" Ltd.  The rich experience in the field of professional education was crucial for the choice of a partner organization, namely the Office of Labour in Dobrich and Varna. The ongoing need for professionals in the field of tourism and the diminishing job opportunities in the region, a result of the closedown of some factories, were crucial for the choice professions for which a qualification course was offered - "Cook" and "Waiter-Bartender". The project were a very good success, with more than a half of the applicants, who initially numbered 69 people, were successful in finding a job position. This, undoubtedly, is a good index for the level of professional education carried out in "International College" Ltd.

 

Provision of qualification services in the job position of "Cook", specialty of "Preparation of culinary products and drinks" - Dobrich

 

This project aims at improving the opportunities for finding a job of 24 unemployed people form Dobrich region. The chosen profession is selected in accordance with the need for qualified people who can fill the shortage of qualified personnel for base job positions in the field of tourism. The course was held in accordance with a specially developed programme including 130 lessons of theory and 200 lessons of practice. The balance of the teaching material gave an opportunity for the candidates to achieve a very high level of utilization of the profession studied. The good training gave a chance for 12 of the candidates to find a job in Dobrich and the Black Sea resorts in the region.

Provision of qualification services in the job position of "Waiter-bartender", specialty of "Service in catering establishments" - Dobrich

 

The project of International College Ltd. had the task of providing the necessary qualification for unemployed people from the region to be more competitive in the labour market. The team has chosen a part of a profession "Waiter-Bartender" because it is more and more appreciated and needed in the expanding tourist sector in the region. After a careful choice which had the aim of motivating the participants, two teams of 12 people each were formed. They've undergone a special training for the specialty including 130 lessons of theory and 200 lessons of practice. A teaching resource book, "The handbook of the good bartender", was additionally developed. It is going to be useful for the participants in their future realization.

The participants who were involved with the project were very successful in finding a job after the completion of the course and, as a result, 17 of them were hired in the field of tourism.

 Provision of qualification services in the job position of "Cook" - Varna

 

This project of International College Ltd. was aimed at the increase of the qualification of unemployed women and assisting their realization in the labour market of the attractive profession of the cook. 21 participants were involved in the training which included 130 lessons of theory and 200 lessons of practice in elite establishments in Varna and the resorts of St. St. Konstantin and Elena and Golden Sands. The specific characteristics of the women that were trained (e.g. some of them didn't have a completed degree of education) suggested that the materials should be taught in a very easy-to-understand way. For this purpose we have developed a teaching resource book "The handbook of the good cook". The rich experience of the teaching staff, the attitude of the participants as well as the good preparation, both theoretical and practical, have turned the project into a very successful enterprise. An exceptionally good factor for us was the fact that 14 of the unemployed participants started working in the field of tourism after the completion of the course.
